Embraer is reducing the maximum cabin altitude on its Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 jets from 6,000ft (1.828m) to 5,800ft (1.768m) when flying at 45,000ft (13.716m). This is achieved by increasing the cabin pressurization differential from 9.3 psi to 9.73 psi. Under 27,050ft (8245m), the ECS maintains a sea-level cabin altitude.
New aircraft will be delivered with the enhancement, and existing ones can be upgraded with it, from the first quarter of 2018.
Both aircraft feature a 6ft-tall flat-floor cabin. The Legacy 450 has four club seats that berth into two beds, while the Legacy 500 has eight club seats, converting to four beds.
The Legacy 450’s optional IFE system includes HD video, surround sound, and various audio and video input options. There are also options for voice and data communications. Other cabin highlights include a baggage area that is accessible in flight, a vacuum lavatory at the rear, and a refreshment center.
The Legacy 500’s IFE adds CMS and three voice communications and connectivity options to the HD video, surround sound and audio and video input options.
