In a new partnership, EDMO Distributors will distribute Nelson Aviation’s patent-pending PinPoint Wiring Access and Diagnostic Tool. The solution is designed to transform wiring access and troubleshooting for aviation technicians. EDMO Distributors specialises in avionics tools and test equipment.
PinPoint is designed to streamline complex wiring tasks without the need for panel disassembly, to save aviation maintenance technicians time and reduce operational risks. PinPoint is designed to simplify post-installation checkout procedures to meet stringent regulatory standards. It can also be used to diagnose wiring issues, and troubleshoot electrical systems. The solution is engineered to have a user-friendly design.
The PinPoint Rack Mount Kit (P/N RM-KIT-1) includes test modules for centrestack Garmin avionics. Each module slides into the Garmin tray and brings forward all the rear connector pin points for easy access to ringing out the installation and testing interconnections between LRUs. Currently supported Garmin products are the GMA340, 345, 350, 35C (and many dual 44-pin connector audio panels of other brands), GTN750, 750XI, GTN650, 650XI, GTX335, 345, 335R, 345R and GFC600. The five LRU modules in this kit are housed in a rugged hard case with custom foam at a cost of $3,600. Modules can also be purchased separately.
The PinPoint Handheld Kit (P/N HH-KIT-1) includes a line of D-Sub breakout box circuit boards, designed to streamline avionics testing and diagnostics. Available in 10 configurations (9-pin, 15-pin SD, 15-pin HD, 25-pin, 26-pin, 37-pin, 44-pin, 50-pin, 62-pin and 78-pin), these boards cover all D-Sub connectors used in modern avionics. Each board features labelled test points, a male D-Sub connector on one side, and a female on the other, designed to enable seamless continuity checks and signal monitoring as a pass-through in active circuits. Engineered for precision and versatility, these breakout boxes are designed to ensure efficient and reliable harness and circuit testing. The kit cost is $575. All kit components are available individually as well.
