Five Boeing B747s recently underwent maintenance at the same time at AMAC Aerospace’s headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.
AMAC Aerospace said the achievement demonstrated its operational capacity for wide-body aircraft maintenance, completion and refurbishment.
The facility in Basel has a total hangar floorspace of 33,130m² spread across five hangars; a 64,610m² apron area; and 6,704m² of workshop and office space. This allows it to welcome several wide-body aircraft at the same time.
AMAC Aerospace said the capability offers customers “faster response times, shorter turnaround times and greater flexibility for their wide-body aircraft”. The company added that it also showcases the strength of its infrastructure and operational planning, and its one-stop-shop approach with dedicated workshops and experienced technicians and engineers.
“At AMAC we are extremely proud to have had this unique opportunity,” said Kadri Muhiddin, group executive chairman and CEO at AMAC Aerospace. “It showcases to the world that we aspire to be the preferred MRO/completion centre to a great many aircraft owners/operators.”
