On-demand charter operator GrandView Aviation has placed an order for Embraer’s Phenom 300MED STC conversion. Embraer’s service centre in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will handle the conversion.

“We originally selected the Phenom 300 as our national fleet platform due to its flexibility and high utilisation reliability,” said Jessie Naor, chief operating officer at GrandView Aviation. “With the Phenom 300MED conversion, our aircraft can transition from a passenger cabin interior to medevac in a matter of hours, allowing for maximum operational efficiency. We already operate diverse missions, and the Phenom 300MED further adds to our ability to meet a wide variety of client needs.”

“We are delighted to sign this contract with GrandView, the Phenom 300MED launch customer,” said Marsha Woelber, head of worldwide executive jets customer support and aftermarket sales, Embraer Service & Support. “We are sure this will be the first of many conversions around the world. This contract is an example of Embraer’s ability to add value in our industry-leading product portfolio.”

The Phenom 300MED is a medevac solution for the Phenom 300 series light jet, and is available through a STC developed and certified by Embraer and umlaut utilising Aerolite equipment. The medevac solution, which is also available for new aircraft, is exclusively installed by Embraer’s Services & Support organisation.

The purpose-built solution is designed to provide crucial air transportation for both civil and government applications, and to be quickly and easily configured to meet the various needs of both healthcare providers and patients.

The interior features medical equipment from Aerolite, a specialist in the design, engineering, production and installation of air medical interiors, with more than 500 medevac interiors delivered.

GrandView Aviation operates a fleet of Phenom 300 private charter jets and helicopters supporting VIP and medical transport across the USA. The FAA Part 135 certificated aircraft operator carries the Wyvern Wingman safety rating.

The Phenom 300E single-pilot jet has a high-speed cruise of 464kts and a five-occupant range of 2,010 nautical miles (3,724km) with NBAA IFR reserves. The aircraft is capable of flying at 45,000ft and has a maximum cabin altitude of 6,600ft.

The aircraft has a baggage compartment, an externally serviced lavatory and an airstair. Interior features include a wardrobe and refreshment centre, voice and data communications options, an entertainment system, and seats with recline and full movement capabilities. There are distinct temperature zones for pilots and passengers.
