StandardAero and FDS partner for wireless streaming IFE

StandardAero has announced a strategic alliance with IFE supplier FDS. The centerpiece of this collaboration is FDS’s do Capsule, a wireless streaming media platform. It is the core of the do Experience, an array of IFE options including movies, music, TV shows, photos and productivity tools. Passengers can stream entertainment to tablets, laptops and smartphones – any device with iOS, Android or Windows operating systems.

“do Capsule truly complements StandardAero’s cabin interior refurbishment and cabin management upgrade capabilities,” said Jerry Sanders, director of avionics for StandardAero Business Aviation. “Not only does do Capsule offer fully licensed and DRM-compliant content, the ease of installation also allows for do Capsule to be installed at any of StandardAero’s four US locations: Houston, Texas; Los Angeles, California; Springfield, Illinois; and Augusta, Georgia.”

Rounding out the do Experience is do360, a flat-rate subscription service for fully licensed entertainment content. It includes movies, TV shows, music, books, magazines and games.

do Capsule comes standard with do2D, an interactive, high-resolution moving map. Customers have the option of upgrading to a more immersive map experience with do3D. This allows passengers to explore their surroundings in three dimensions using tablets, laptops and smartphones.
