Completions Structure Mechanic



The Completions Structure Mechanic will troubleshoot, repair, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft sheet metal components, composites and hydraulics in accordance with applicable technical data and FAA/JAA regulations.

In your role, you will:

  • Adhere to general work requirements
  • Remove and install aircraft components, for example, valves, bracketry, engine cowls, fasteners, airframe components, landing gear doors, access panels and fairings on aircraft as they relate to structure repair/modification
  • Document work performed per appropriate manuals, for example, Inspection Procedures Manual (IPM) and Structure Repair Manual (SRM)
  • Perform maintenance activities on thrust reversers in accordance with Repair Station Certificate as required
  • Fabricate aircraft parts and ground support equipment per engineering drawings and specifications as required
  • Fabricate and install structural modifications on aircraft
  • Inspect parts as required including inspection for warranty consideration
  • Assist in performing minor structural repairs on composite components detached or attached to aircraft including, but not limited to flight controls, doors, tip tanks, engine inlet and cowlings, stabilizers, radomes, aft stingers and horizontal to vertical stabilizer close-out fairings at on-site or off-site locations
  • Assist in conducting hidden damage inspection of aircraft structures
  • Apply cleaning solvent and proper sealing compound according to maintenance and structural repair manuals and engineering drawings
  • Assist with complex structural repairs at on-site or off-site locations
  • Access, remove and re-install aircraft components, which obstruct the performance of assigned tasks
  • Assist in towing aircraft
  • Perform maintenance on customer aircraft in accordance with applicable technical data and FAA/JAA regulations
  • Perform inspections, making adjustments and repairs, replacing components, and correcting malfunctions or deficiencies
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical removals and installations
  • Work in shops as well as on aircraft
  • Operate ground support equipment including, but not limited to tugs, jacks, nitrogen servicing and oxygen servicing
  • Provide a list of parts needed on squawks within area of expertise
  • Assist with complex repairs at on-site and off-site locations
  • Assist in performing APU runs for the purpose of system operations and troubleshooting
  • Perform other tasks such as cleaning aircraft using approved materials, methods, and equipment, and load and secure ballast and/or freight as directed
  • Assist with fueling or defueling aircraft as needed
  • Assist with engine removal and installation
  • Assist other completions areas as required
  • Provide and/or participate in cross-training with other completions employees as required


As our ideal candidate,

  • You have at least two years of structural repair/modification experience
  • You have an Airframe Certificate – preferred
  • You have prior experience in sheet metal repair, sheet metal and composite repair/modification – preferred
  • You are Tug Operator Qualified – preferred
  • You are Forklift Operator Qualified – preferred
  • You are Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Operator Qualified – preferred
  • You have basic knowledge of reading and interpreting aircraft blueprints, drawings, diagrams and manuals
  • You have basic knowledge of aircraft systems
  • You have basic knowledge of aircraft avionics systems
  • You have the basic knowledge of manuals necessary to perform the job, for example, Inspection Procedures Manual (IPM), SR Maintenance Manual and Component Installation Manual, Systems Manual, Maintenance Manuals and various technical information necessary to perform the job
  • You have basic knowledge of maintenance manuals, parts catalog and applicable FAA documents
