New general manager at West Star Aviation’s East Alton facility

West Star Aviation’s facility in East Alton, Illinois (ALN), has a new general manager – Scott Sweeney. The company offers maintenance, interior, installations, avionics, paint, parts and AOG/MRT services at the site – all will be overseen by Sweeney.

The facility’s previous general manager, Eric Kujawa, has been promoted to vice president of Falcon product development.

Sweeney began his career in aviation more than 30 years ago in the US Navy Air Wing, on the USS Enterprise. Moving into business aviation, he worked at Hawker Beechcraft for 25 years in roles including technician, supervisor, sales manager, vice president of global customer relations and general manager. Most recently, he was vice president of operations at Constant Aviation.

“Scott’s experience and first-hand knowledge of business aviation in progressive roles will make him very successful as ALN’s general manager,” said Jeff Curry, vice president of operational efficiency at West Star Aviation. “We are excited to welcome Scott to our team and we look forward to his role in helping our company continue to grow.”

“West Star has a genuine employee-focused culture with a relentless dedication to building strong, long-term customer relationships,” said Sweeney. “I look forward to leading the growing team here and maintaining the culture that’s made us number one in the industry.”

West Star Aviation specializes in the repair and maintenance of airframes, windows and engines, as well as major modifications, avionics installation and repair, interior refurbishments, surplus avionics sales, accessory services, paint and parts.
