Indonesian charter airline orders P180 Avanti IIs
Susi Air has ordered two P.180 Avanti II aircraft, with one further option. The schedule and charter airline, which is based in Pangandaran, West Java, Indonesia, has operated its existing P.180 Avanti II since July 2009. The new aircraft are expected to join Susi Air’s fleet or 30 aircraft in the first quarter of 2010.
“Our choice was predominantly based on the requirements of our customers – the Piaggio Aero aircraft will allow us to increase frequency and enter new routes at the lowest possible costs, while offering our passengers a high level of comfort,” said Susi Pudjiastuti, founder, owner and CEO of Susi Air. “We have been very satisfied operating our first P.180, and after a careful analysis of current and future needs, we concluded that the P.180 Avanti II is well suited for this purpose. Thanks to its unique design and characteristics, we feel that the Piaggio Aero P.180 Avanti II is the ideal aircraft for all our different applications.”
Susi Air currently operates from four main bases across the Indonesian archipelago. In addition to executive services, Susi Air has launched scheduled flights, survey services, freight services, and a flight training centre. Its aircraft were also used to transport equipment and medicine for aid agencies during the recent Indian Ocean earthquake.
